Resisting the DST Psy-op?

Over the past decade many Canadians (and others) have been subject to a series of DST (dare we call them?) psy-ops in an attempt to permanently (year-round: winter, spring, summer, fall) force us out of bed an hour early (able, disabled, well, unwell, autistic, exhausted, etc., etc. ) even in the dark of winter in order to squeeze an extra hour of light out of frozen afternoons.

We just witnessed our neighbor to the west, British Columbia by name, fall for the psy-op of "Ditching DST" only to find out that ditching meant embracing / adopting / enforcing a mis-alignment with the sun's cycle and our natural-born biorhythms.

In a future post, I will detail the decade of trying to maneuver Albertans into permanent DST, but for this post, I reproduce an email I sent this day to the Alberta powers who have hinted that permanent DST might be mandated in the near future.

SO, PLEASE, concerned, freedom-loving, science-minded, fellow Albertans, if you want Alberta to truly ditch both DST and flip-flop DST; if you want permanent Mountain Standard Time; if you think morning light is important, etc. etc., PLEASE flood the Alberta powers with your opinion and desires for Mountain Standard Time (UTC-07.00) year-round. Tell them you want the voice of the people to be heard, through referendum if necessary, without manipulating the choice or question to achieve a desired DST result. Greetings Premier Smith, and Members of the Executive Council:

As you travel the province, please ask clearly, without ulterior motive or agenda pitch: How many here present want:

_____ permanent Mountain Standard Time year-round?
_____ permanent Daylight Savings Time (being Central Standard Time) year-round?
_____ 8-month MDST with March spring-ahead and November fall-back?

If permanent Mountain Standard Time had been offered in the 2021 referendum, this controversy would have been laid to rest 5 years ago, but no, the government offered only the last two options: permanent DST or flip-flop DST.

I complained about the manipulated 2019 survey(1) that preceded the 2021 referendum and now, we are again seeing some of the same deliberate obfuscation:

The truth is: B.C. is NOT ditching DST. It’s ditching the flip-flop by going permanent DST— the same as adopting our Mountain Standard Time (UTC-07.00), but calling it "Pacific Time"). In the above video the audience applauds the “ditching of DST time changes” only to howl in protest when the host says (without a shred of awareness of the deception) that BC was adopting permanent DST, NOT ditching it.

The same obfuscation was tried in NDP Alberta in 2017 when a private members bill proposed that permanent DST be called “Alberta Standard Time.” People were utterly bamboozled, including the press(3). Many thought it was a bill to "ditch DST." It was the opposite.

Please don’t perpetuate confusion by saying or implying “ditching DST” or “abandoning DST” which most everyone interprets as returning to the permanent Mountain Standard Time they want, when what is meant is permanent Mountain DST, being the same as Central Time (UTC-06.00) which Saskatchewan did in 1966 (going permanent DST by switching to Central Standard Time from Mountain Standard Time).

Honestly ask yourselves: How many Albertans want:

• to ignore the science of sleep and of documented mental and physical health issues around mis-aligning biorhythms with sun cycles(4)?
• to pretend that morning light is not critical to mood, alertness, performance patience, etc.(5) especially for children?
• to pretend that the failed, abandoned permanent DST experiments in Russia, Africa, and dozens of other places(6) have nothing to teach us about sticking with the sun’s cycle?
• to pretend that world time zones don’t already require constant adjustment for travel, business, stock markets, flights, etc., etc.?
• to ignore the significant disruption to children’s bedtime schedules with extended evening light?
• to get kids on the bus or walking to school in the deeper dark of winter mornings?
• to roust sleeping infants an hour early to get them to the sitter or daycare?
• to do morning exercise runs in the deeper darkness of winter?
• to pretend there is any savings of energy when winter furnaces, lights, appliances, etc., etc. have to be turned on an hour early in homes and offices for DST timing?
• to pretend that the needs of Alberta Northern cities and industries are comparable to BC border cities?
• to pretend that we ever were asked or consented to the expansion of DST timing from April to March and October to November?

Please rank the well-being of humans (especially children and families) far above corporate or business interests, evening sports enthusiasts, or individual preferences. Why deliberately mis-align our human physiology with our environment?

Please keep Alberta strong and free of more government manipulation like DST.

Please conduct an honest survey or make this a matter of referendum with the three options above.

Gas-Fogging* in Academia & Beyond

(*Alternately called gas-lighting)

For those who have not heard of the fog-bank that has obscured the Fiat Lux motto¹ — Let there be light — of the University of Lethbridge (and to be fair, much of academia worldwide), it's worth a look at this classic example of gas-fogging with DARVO² from the University of Lethbridge, February 4th, 2026.

You've never heard of DARVO!? In short, DARVO³ is a tactic where an offender or offenders who might face consequences for bad behavior vigorously deny "the bad" and attack the victim of their behavior in a concerted campaign to reverse victim and offender in their own minds and in the minds of any observer.

Thus the calm, reasoning, but stubborn Frances Widdowson who visited the University of Lethbridge on invitation from an emeritus ULeth professor to debate him and any other believer in the Residential School⁴ genocide, mass-grave narrative was surrounded for many hours by a cacophonous rabble who had no interest in hearing or letting others hear anything that did not affirm their belief in the mass-graves claim that to date has no concrete evidence to sustain it.⁵

So much for fiat lux for the administration and students who knee-jerked at “triggering” descriptions of Widdowson’s presence on campus. To their credit, the majority of the ULeth student-body did not join the noisome fray, but how revelatory of academia that so few had the courage or fool-hardiness to question the imposed mass-graves narrative.⁶

Frances Widdowson, a former (censored, fired) professor at MRU-Calgary, uses a strategy called Spectrum Street Epistemology⁷ designed to rationally debate controversial issues in an endeavour to arrive at truth and to counter the pervasive “closing of the academic mind.” One of those controversies that Widdowson has become known for is questioning the Residential School mass-grave narrative that was adjudged and promulgated by (to put it bluntly):

• devotees and servitors of planned polarization⁸ (including the MSM & gov’t. officials⁹);
• many psy-oped, guilt-infected, or virtue-signaling descendants of “white colonialists”;
• some indigenous¹⁰ members and tribes too ready to adopt “black thinking”¹¹ about all Residential School experiences; and
• severely abused, targeted survivors so traumatized by repetitive abuse that any memory of kindness or caring by others in the RS system has been lost; that childhood fears and speculations are now proven.

Yes, there have been many offences and admissions of early “cultural genocide” or attempts thereat over the years, but this latest shift to physical genocide with mass graves has been spread and believed without firm evidence¹² and, perhaps as importantly, without comparative evidence of child deaths at residential schools vis-à-vis non-residential school child deaths on reservations over the same period. The damage to Canada's reputation by these unproven allegations has been enormous.

To date, after nearly five years of claims, funding, and “investigation,” the Residential School mass-graves narrative remains unverified — i.e., no actual remains or skeletons from mass graves of any kind — just belief and hope that there must be evidence; although some tribal leaders are slowly backing away from mass-grave claims, yet without apology by the MSM or global retraction.¹³

Perhaps it is time for academia to cease teaching and affirming black-and-white thinking where they castigate colonial history and romanticize many things indigenous. Fiat lux looks at both the good and the bad in every history when seeking truth. Black-and-white thinking does not advance fiat lux — "Let there be light.” It is divisive, abusive, and riddled with falsehoods, justifications, and DARVO. No group or people or history is all black or all white. We are flawed humans whatever our skin colour, heritage, or culture. Native elites and non-elite natives alike are as susceptible to corruption, complicity, compromise, ego, greed, self-deception, manipulation, abusive behavior, self-service, etc., etc., as every non-native is, whatever their class or rank. Human nature is ethnic blind. Observing 360° is not hate speech; however, speech or action that  obstructs fiat lux is. There are many noble, honorable indigenous men and women who know the good, the bad and the ugly of their history. They know the prevalence and wounds of conflict, whether white on native, native on white, native on native, or tribe on tribe. Truth seekers want the whole truth, warts and all.

Yes, the actions, arrogance, and crimes of the past that have harmed so many deserve, demand  exposure,¹⁴ but so also does the present power abuse and lack of accountability that plagues so many reservations. Let the whole truth, past and present, be brought into the light. Let there also be a campaign for accountability for many in current tribal leadership so the added sufferings can be acknowledged and dealt with.

For the most part, history has been brutal at some time or other for every group. We can acknowledge and grieve for the tragedies, crimes, and sins of the past without being forced to accept beliefs and mass-grave narratives without proof. 

Professors who promote "black and white" thinking are servitors of Fiat Tenebris / Tenebrae — “Let there be dark / darkness.”  How many indigenous would ULeth allow to speak freely in classrooms if they said that not all residential schools were horrible — that some parents desired the schools and that some students had good and grateful memories of their residential school days. This in no way says that bad, despicable things didn't happen. They did, but good things also happened. To deny either the good or the bad is not “Truth and Reconciliation”; and is not Fiat Lux.

How many professors or students do you allow the freedom to say what they think and see that differs from the authorized narrative? How many are free to criticize indigenous elites that administer their reservations? How many are allowed to talk about the living conditions on many reservations¹⁵? Or the amount of money that flows to improving conditions that do not get improved? Let noble, honorable indigenous leaders (like Chief Aaron Pete¹⁶) and students come forward to petition for rational, honorable debate about this and other divisive controversies.

And please, ULethbridge, quit gas-fogging yourselves, your students, and the public. Apologize for the February 4 DARVO. How can you possibly hold up Fiat Lux when you deliberately triggered reactive, disrespectful, censoring confrontations?

On February 4, 2026, Frances Widdowson had a fantastic #SpectrumStreetEpistemology session with a student from the University of Lethbridge. Widdowson was intending to do the session with University of Lethbridge Professor Emeritus Tony Hall, but university administrators notified numerous faculty and students about Widdowson's presence and a mob shut down the discussion with loud drumming. Some students showed Widdowson signs saying that they "hope your ears bleed".

The Peterson Law - Finally!

The rights and freedoms that the Supreme Court of Canada (SCC) did not sustain in the JB Peterson case of 2023-24,¹ were honored this past week by the UCP (United Conservative Party) of Alberta when announcing The Jordan B. Peterson Law:

Over the past five years especially, there has been an escalating culture of coercion — a knee-jerk response to questioners or skeptics of trending dogmas, whether Woke. COVID, Climate, etc. The world has witnessed numerous attempts to cancel, disparage, fire, or de-license critical thinkers if they did not bow to narrative stories. With a Heroes and Hydras blog,² I began to highlight some of those unbelievable injustices by licensing bodies — injustices that were documented during the National Citizens Inquiry of Canada (NCI).³ The SCC did not appear to be listening to the lessons of the NCI when they affirmed a very public coercion of Jordan Peterson.

But finally, Alberta has taken the lead in putting a stumbling block in the path of authoritarian licensing bodies who have taken upon themselves to punish and re-align  thought, belief, opinion, and speech that does not conform to their thought, belief, and opinion. The Jordan Peterson appeal⁴ was a classic case of fighting bully culture. That legislation should be required to hedge against such authoritarianism is unfortunate, but THANK YOU Alberta for resisting the tyranny of so many licensing bodies. May every province take up the torch of aggressively protecting free and critical  thought, opinion, belief, and expression.

Perhaps we should all be more assertive in demanding that all bodies answer: "By What Authority?"⁵

To Sink or Swim with the RPA?

Further to my post of March 20, 2025, Saving Canada: A Message to Albertans & all Canadians,¹ here are some observations about the (unofficial) showing² for the newish Republican Party of Alberta (RPA) from three by-elections this week.

31 – Edmonton-Ellerslie              3.42% - RPA
44 – Edmonton-Strathcona          0.67%  - RPA
76 - Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills   17.66% - RPA

Alberta is no stranger to conservative fragmenting and frequent discontent with those in power (often with good reason), but what should we make of this newish, allegedly conservative Republican Party of Alberta? Their wiki page³ contains this:

Now what follows is just my opinion, so take it or leave it — without a blood-pressure incident!

First, I think they made a mistake in their colour choice of red. The same mistake that the U.S. Republicans made many years ago.⁴ Red is not the colour of conservative blue and has a seriously  strong connection with the opposite ideology.⁵

Second, the colour-blind mistake has been compounded by a tone-deafness in the name of their party. I would lay odds that most independent-, separatist-prone Albertans are not “pro-Americanism” (aka USianism) nor Republican in the way the RPA might imagine in their dreams and chats. Yes, there are a lot of fine USians south of our border with a fantastic Constitution and Bill of Rights that have inspired the world, BUT, (and it’s a big BUT) if one knows the underbelly of their history⁶ over the past 100 years or so, one knows they have become a seriously hypocritical nation, whether headed by Republicans or Democrats.⁷ (Blood pressure?) The USians have allowed their governments to mock their Constitution and Rights time after time without demanding full exposure and accountability — re-electing the same offenders, time after time.. (You know, rather like we Canadians with our governments and Constitution!) The whole of North America is in precipitous decline, and clamming, like a barnacle, onto the sinking ship of the U.S.A. is not a thinking (wo)man’s idea of swimming free. To pursue another metaphor: if we can’t save the current frying pan of Canada, leaping into the inferno of our southern neighbour is exponentially worse. If we are forced to swim free, let’s swim on our own, or synchronize with Saskatchewan (and maybe Manitoba and BC) if all else fails. But first, let us make an honest, persistent, vociferous effort to renegotiate Confederation. And let us not imagine that the name Republican,⁸ in this day and age, is a thing to print on our foreheads. 

Third, why is conservative Alberta always fighting to split the conservative vote? Or are these just pretend conservatives? Or do they consider themselves bluer than blue such that they only see red when their right-ideology is watered down past their liking or ego? Dividing conservatives does nothing but elect the opposition.

Fourth, Do the Alberta Republicans imagine they can escape the hubris, corruption, honey-potting, and self-serving — the R.I.C.E.⁹ fest — that dances about every power structure. The “sins” they lament in others are already at their party.

The Buffalo Party of Alberta was registered as a political party with Elections Alberta on January 20, 2022.[4] The first leader of the party was John Molberg.[5] The party held a launch event in Calgary on May 12, 2022.[6]
The party ran one candidate, Andrew Jacobson, in the 2023 Alberta provincial election in the district Edmonton-Strathcona.[7]
In March 2024, Andrew Jacobson was listed by Elections Alberta as the new interim leader of the party.[8][9]
On February 10, 2025, the party changed its name to the Republican Party of Alberta.[8]
On April 11, 2025, Cameron Davies was acclaimed as the new leader.[10] The party made the announcement of his leadership on April 29.[11][12]
On May 14, 2025, the party announced its first candidate since their rebranding. The party announced that Fred Munn would run as their candidate in the Edmonton-Ellerslie by-election.[13] On May 20, leader Cameron Davies was announced as the candidate for the Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills by-election.[14] On May 27, Ravina Chand was named the candidate in the Edmonton-Strathcona by-election.[15] These by elections were held on June 23, 2025.

Saving Canada: A Message to Albertans & all Canadians

Below is an email that was sent to several Alberta Government officials this afternoon (4:47 pm MDT), March 20, 2025 titled "The Alberta Separation Movement?" My appeal is also to every Canadian. May everyone of us unrelentingly petition our provincial and federal governments to review our confederate structure to achieve greater fairness and equity. Look at the maps and charts below and above and ask: "What must we do to  remedy this imbalance and injustice? What must we do to save Canada?

Greetings Premier Smith, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs:

Please consider the following points and questions as you face increasing calls for Alberta separatism because of Federal overreach, corruption, non-accountability, and the mocking of democracy that we have been witnessing. Many are concluding that there is no way out of the inequities, unfairness, and injustices of our Canadian confederate structure except to separate. Some are making an assumption that seven provinces out of ten with 50% population could never come to an agreement to review and repair our confederate structure, but have we ever seriously presented a united Western front of under-represented provinces to raise awareness and pressure? So please:

1. Can Alberta initiate and invite the other three Western Premiers to form a united task force to inform all Canadians about the great inequities that now prevail (as can be partially seen in the appended map and chart below)? Let us appeal to and trust in the fairness principle that guides most Canadians — the fairness principle that has been offended so much of late by the Feds and some of our trading partners — a fairness principle that, in the present mood, could sweep over and reform our country if we choose leaders of courage, transparency, and integrity — if we restored justice and judgment in the halls of power.

2. Why, in this time of increasing patriotism and determination to defend Canada against unjust and false narratives, would Alberta choose to pursue or threaten separatism? — to become a pariah, a scapegoat, a target for anger, bitterness, and hatred for abandoning Canada in this hour of great need? for helping destroy a nation that has been such a blessing to so many for over a century? Why make possession of an Alberta license plate a trigger for retaliation?

3. Why, when we are making strides in our own nation to abolish internal tariffs, would we raise the spectre of creating more foreign borders?

4. The Canadian unity and pride witnessed by the world during the Canadian Truckers’ Freedom Convoy of 2022 is still with us and now recently reinvigorated with the unjust tariff conflict. Millions of Canadians love Alberta and dream of moving here because we presently have strong, courageous leadership that is devoted to defending our rights and freedoms and to keeping us strong and free, so why would we not join forces with the other under-represented provinces to fight for a confederate restructuring so our great nation can survive and prosper?

5. Please do not ignore the catastrophic consequences that Alberta and Canada will suffer if Alberta chooses to go-it-alone instead of uniting with other advocates for restructuring in pursuit of fairness, equality, and integrity. Let us never ask Albertans (or any Canadian) to vote for separatism as the “best or only” means or leverage to save Canada. There are other, more healthy, ways to pursue fairness and unity.

6. And please do not be seduced by U.S.ian promises or appearances. The oligarchic “doge” system* that has been wending its way through the powerful nations since medieval Venice has captured and corrupted so much of what was remarkable and exceptional in the U.S. Their government corruptions, combined with their greater power, are even deeper than ours, and if we think the 180 surface we’re allowed to see is all there is, we will not comprehend the sudden collapse if they (and we) do not restore justice and judgment 360.

7. There are millions of good, honorable people in both our nations who desire a return to integrity and fairness in government, so please let us join forces with our Canadian brothers and sisters to pursue an honourable solution to the inequities that have unfolded and increased over time. Let Alberta be a leader and unifier.
