The Status Quo or No?

If this has been essentially true since 1915:
“The Milch Cow” - cartoon from The Grain Growers' Guide1- 1915

and this since 1873, 1949, 1975, 1999:
Canadian Senate Seats by Region2
do these illustrate the lamentable Status Quo / Forever Canada that Albertans voted for3? Or do the percentages of the other Nine Questions tell an even more divided story — urban vs. rural4?

Thinking, astute Albertans5 see the necessity of change. Even those who voted against separation in many rural ridings voted for more local control; more independence from distant, central powers; more fair, respectful, just representation; more commitment to rights and freedoms; and perhaps, above even these, most Albertans (and surely, most Canadians) want government and political accountability. They want prosecution for rampant corruption that is being exposed,6 yet ignored by those sworn to protect just laws.

Many Albertans voted YES to the Nine but the Constitutional Nine were finally decided in the cities where "No-to-the-Nine" governed. Considering the blatant disparities and unfairness of the status quo, one can't help but wonder whether any of those no-to-the-nine voters even read the questions before voting "No" or if they just knee-jerked to the pied piper of keeping control in and money flowing to the East. How could anyone seeing the present power-abuse and power-dynamics in Canada choose distant governance over local? — choose unjust status quo?

The "Option One" vote to Question Ten for retaining a status quo,  “Forever Canada” will not save Canada. She has been on a downward spiral for years, driven by post-national agendas [we see you, Mr. Carney, et al.] seeking to deconstruct sovereign nations to restructure them into states of domination. To not see it is to be willfully blind, tragically complicit, or incredibly naïve.

The only things that will save Canada are a return to values of freedom, truth, honesty, integrity, virtue, and justice. If we encourage or affirm ideologies or “visions” of coercion, censorship, and domination (whether political, religious, social, or the like) in alleged pursuit of  peace, safety, tolerance for intolerance, “truth,” and order, we will end up being pall bearers for Canada.7

Albertans, Canadians: let us not give up on greater fairness and justice in Canada. Let us keep repenting and praying this 4th (seldom sung) verse of Canada’s National Anthem:
Ruler Supreme,
Who hearest humble prayer
Hold our Dominion
In Thy loving care
Help us to find, O God, in Thee
A lasting, rich reward,
As waiting for the better day
WE ever stand on guard.

(Refrain)
God keep our land
Glorious and free!
O Canada we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

5. Meaning, those who did not genuflect to “No-to-the-Nine.” For those who obeyed “No-to-the-Nine,” please, honestly confess if you even read them or just blindly, obediently X-ed your NO?
