Tree of Death ?

Considering:

▪ innumerable televangelists converting “seed” into mammon and sheep’s clothing;¹
▪ vain ‘n profane speech and entertainments;
▪ denigration of the poor, the innocent, the oppressed, and the unborn;²
▪ chem-dumping worldwide in land, sea, sky, and body;³
▪ sequential profiteering wars and preludes to more;
▪ Hiroshima and Nagasaki (1945);⁴
▪ Chernobyl (1986), Fukushima-Daiichi (2011), and numerous other near or hidden nuclear disasters;⁵ AND NOW,
▪ the “scientific” collisions at CERN;⁶

yes, considering all these and more, could God be nearing the conviction that humankind has passed the tipping point—being more in love with death than with His Tree of Life?

Perhaps we should remember:

Some things are worse than death,⁷
Considering there is a resurrection.

Getting It Right ?

How many similar voices of warning have sounded down the ages? Will we hear this one and the hundreds of others that are now sounding? Or are we setting ourselves up for another devastating bout of justice and judgment? Can we like Nineveh of old repent?¹ And if so, how long will it last? As long as Ninevah's?

So what does all this have to do with the CERN (LHC)? Perhaps this:

Behold, great and marvelous are the works of the Lord. How unsearchable are the depths of the mysteries of him; and it is impossible that man should find out all his ways. And no man knoweth of his ways save it be revealed unto him; wherefore, brethren, despise not the revelations of God. For behold, by the power of his word man came upon the face of the earth, which earth was created by the power of his word. Wherefore, if God being able to speak and the world was, and to speak and man was created, O then, why not able to command the earth, or the workmanship of his hands upon the face of it, according to his will and pleasure? (Book of Mormon | Jacob 4:8-9)

Do we really think we can come to know the mysteries of the Universe by the violent smashing of particles to see what might happen?!!

Are we that arrogant, irresponsible, reckless, careless, negligent, foolish, rash, immature???

Instead of bringing our lives into conformity with the will and mind of God and preparing our souls to receive (to be trusted with the power of) His mysteries, we spend billions to fund a 27-km (17-mile) long tube to smash particles together “that scientists hope might help crack the mystery of ‘dark matter’.”⁽²⁾

Is this a variation of (attempted) queue-jumping?³

Perhaps the mystery of “dark matter” is really to be found by looking inward—into the hubristic human heart.

Should it not be enlightening that God speaks and matter/elements obey (His word)? But man—who seeks not the gift of charity;⁴ who has not cultivated honor, love, and righteous influence—turns to mechanization, force, manipulation, violence, and little-bangs(??!!!), so he can take “a step forward in the sensitivity[??] to possible new physics[.]”⁵

So to believers in God, who are blissfully and obliviously basking in the “blessings” of the world (aka: Babylon), and who are in for a series of “shock and awful” awakenings, perhaps we should begin to remember:

I [the Lord your God, even Jesus Christ, the Great I AM, Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end] am the same which spake, and the world was made, and all things came by me. (Doctrine and Covenants | Section 38:3[1])

So if all things came by Him, they will also GO by Him. Puny (d-lluminati?) man (including his “not-so-alien” consorts⁶) with all his hidden technologies, connivings, and strategies will, in due course, find himself—despite his grand oaths and secrets—in likeness to the army of Sennacherib who were suddenly “all dead corpses.” (Old Testament | Isaiah 37:36)

Should we beware the déjà vus?!—the repeated warnings?

Do we love darkness more than light?⁷

When we begin to see the light that has always been here (even in the darkness), here is a word that should become indelibly imprinted in our minds to get us through the tribulation:

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. (Old Testament | Isaiah 41:10-13)

If we can’t remember anything else in the depth of our repentance and anguish, remember this:

Fear not, I will help thee.

PS: This post in NOT a condemnation of all scientists or researchers who work at CERN or elsewhere, but it is a condemnation of hubristic science, deceptions, corruptions, and the pursuit of power, gain, and prestige without regard for our beloved, indispensable planet and all her inhabitants.

Gods ?

If we were accused of believing in the God that George Washington and the first U. S. Congress invoked to bless the United States, following Washington’s April 30, 1789 inauguration,¹ would there be enough evidence to convict us?

Perhaps the best (or worst) evidence (as the case may prove) can be found at the site of that 1789 invocation—at St. Paul’s Chapel of Trinity Church in New York City.² Many have forgotten where that first inaugural-day prayer took place, but in 1789, St. Paul’s Chapel occupied a parcel of New York land that would eventually see the construction of neighboring twin towers—monuments to financial prowess—skyscrapers jutting into the heavens—shrines to power and gain that would tower for nearly three decades above St. Paul’s Chapel—until September 11, 2001.

As Rabbi Jonathan Cahn has observed, the “Ground Zero” of 9-11 is the same ground where the first congress and president prayed after the first inauguration. In Cahn’s déjà vu reflections, he calls this “Ground Zero” site the equivalent of Israel’s Temple Mount—a ground of consecration.³

So, beyond the King Solomon déjà vus observed by Cahn, do we see an additional one?

And [Jesus] found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. (New Testament | John 2:14-17)

What does the juxtaposition of this chapel and the (former) twin towers of the World Trade Center say about us?

Does the miraculous, unscathed survival of St. Paul’s during 9-11 carry a message when one considers how that neighboring, two-headed “temple” devoted to power and gain fell so precipitously?

Does the term “Ground Zero” carry an additional message, if we would but hear?

What does the new “Freedom Tower” say about us and our concept of “freedom”?

Could the official name “One World Trade Center”⁴ be a foreshadowing of intentions by the powers that be(lieve in themselves and their own sufficiency)?

How many witnesses do we need to convince us that Babylon has no permanence?

Is the “One World Trade Center” just one more example of self-con as we pretend to worship The One God while our thoughts and energies are devoted to pursuing the gods of power and gain—those fickle idols of recycling boom-and-bust?⁵

How many witnesses before we return to our foundations—to principled-living and -working?

How many more traumas?

Jury Duty ?

Yes, YOU

Perhaps, on this precise 800^th anniversary of the Magna Carta¹ (15 June 1215), it is time again to resurrect “We the People.”

Time to remember how fundamental the Magna Carta was to the Founding Fathers of America.

Time to rescue the neglected, vertical² “checks and balances” that those Fathers enshrined because they feared the horizontal “checks and balances” would prove insufficient;

American school children are educated that the Constitution provides checks and balances among the three branches of the federal government. A diagram of the system typically shows three circles representing the executive, the legislative, and the judiciary branches connected by three lines. But that diagram is overly simplistic and the education incomplete. Checks and balances were intended to be an intricate web with (in the words of constitutional historian William J. Watkins Jr.) both vertical and horizontal components. The three connected circles represent only the horizontal. The national and state governments were to provide vertical checks on each other. And the individual was to provide vertical checks on both levels through suffrage (the right to vote) and jury nullification.³

Time to reconsider the warning of Thomas Jefferson:⁴

I consider trial by jury as the only anchor yet imagined by man, by which a government can be held to the principles of its constitution.

[And] if the question relate to any point of public liberty, or if it be one of those in which the judges may be suspected of bias, the jury undertake to decide both law and fact.

Time to reclaim the power—the clout—of JURY NULLIFICATION⁵ that has been suppressed, denied, and abandoned for far too long.

Jury Nullification is a principle often suppressed and denied by the legal profession but one with a long and splendid history. It says that We The People have the power to judge not only questions of guilt and innocence but the law itself. We The People, sitting as a jury, are competent to nullify laws we consider unjust or unconstitutional.⁶

[T]he long history of Jury Nullification is mirrored by the long history of judges denying or hiding the right and power of juries to nullify.⁷

Intense pressure by corporations and their high-powered lawyerly clients moved the Supreme Court to declare in 1895 that judges and courts no longer had to inform juries of their rights of nullification. So naturally they did not and Jury Nullification slipped quietly into the mists of forgotten history. / In the 20th century, it became more and more the norm for judges to incorrectly instruct juries that they must consider only the facts of the case and whether the defendant was guilty of breaking a law – not judge the law itself.⁸

Perhaps in this age of overreach and omnibus, it is time to curtail our sodas and circuses⁹ and prep for extended and critical-care Jury Duty! Uncle Sam needs US!

War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes; and armies, and debts, and taxes are the known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few. Considering the current state of US (and world) affairs, could it be said of this James and those other American prophets (George and Thomas,² et al.) that

Or, in a parallel déjà vu to the writings of Isaiah, might these prophets say:

[T]his people draw near [us] with their mouth, and with their lips do honour [us], but have removed their heart far from [us?]⁴

Mayday? Mayday? Mayday!*

Perhaps on this historic May Day,^† we could profit from mourning these words of Thomas Jefferson:

I hope we shall crush in its birth the aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge our government in a trial of strength and bid defiance to the laws of our country. (Thomas Jefferson ~ 1816¹)

Have we not observed how the noose of hypocrisy has tightened as we have “globalized”?—

▪ how wages & benefits have plummeted as “profits” (and CEO compensations) rise;
▪ how loyalty to the corp has no reciprocation by the corp;
▪ how international sister corps protect each other’s profit turf, despite “free-trade” and law;²
▪ how big corps are into control, tyranny, bullying, spellbinding, etc., etc., despite human rights and freedoms (speech, association, a free press, religion, etc.) (Read a recent manifestation of control as Netflix, HBO, and their content providers try to control the viewing options of “foreign” paying subscribers. (Yes, PAYING, but masking their “foreignness”³);
▪ how the pursuit of big profits is poisoning our climate, deforming our weather, killing competing innovations, suppressing unprofitable truths, corrupting and/or homogenizing diverse cultures, damaging our food (& well-being), etc., etc. (Just read the Déjà Vu ~ Times posts labelled “corporatism”⁴ to get a broader notion of how prescient Mr. Jefferson and others were); and
▪ how the list goes on and on.

So what is the remedy to this call of distress? Since the majority of governments seem to have taken a luxury berth on the doomed ship Babylon,⁵ it seems we shall have to look elsewhere for help. Could it be—at ourselves?—at “We the People”? OR maybe even God?!! Could much of this be but déjà vu?—a semblance of nigh 240 years ago in America? (Have we forgotten already, the Brits and their globe-trotting tea partner?!⁶)
